Workshop "trust and governance"
Workshop "Trust and Governance"
Mercredi 14 décembre 2016 de 14h00 à 16h00
Salle A709 - 7ème étage
Developing a governance structure in a culture of trust takes a conscious and significant effort to break from the traditional assumptions of corporate governance that are rooted in Agency theory.
In this workshop we will review Stewardship theory, which represents an alternative to Agency theory (Davis, Schoorman & Donaldson, 1997).
Agency theory is based on the economic assumptions about subordinates as maximizing individual utility, opportunistic and self-serving.
Alternately, Stewardship theory depicts subordinates as more collectivist, pro-organizational and trustworthy.
We will discuss the requirements and implications of moving an organization’s governance to a more stewardship based approach.
Speaker :
Dr. David Schoorman - Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management and Associate Dean for Executive Education and Global Programs at the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University (USA).
