Having worked and built a life around three languages, I have always been exposed to an international environment. I turned to international business development to help companies as a consultant, a job that allowed me to work with companies in several sectors. This diversity helped me understand the common issues in international development and develop a great ability to adapt to the uncertainty.

The international development has become a major growth driver in the current hyper-connected world. Much has been said about the arrival of an era of zero growth in most world economies. Today, we have to learn how to live with low growth rates on our domestic markets and to seek opportunities where they are. This mission carries great experiences of learning, of creating value for business and for people. It is this adventure that inspired me so far and I always push to its limits.

Studies show that SMEs that are developing internationally also create jobs in their home country (see articles below), improves their competitiveness and their processes. Today the opportunities are often in complex markets such as the BRICS or in certain regions of Africa. But in some mature countries where the economy is growing, you may also find opportunities. The business developer professional is needed now more than ever essential and this profile is no longer an exclusivity of large groups.

The International Business Development is requiring more and more a large spectre of skills and human resources with a very good knowledge about intercultural negotiation. The new technologies are also coming in. The Big Data is also becoming a powerful tool to identify where in the world are the opportunities.
